Oseola McCarty Youth Development Center VISTA service duties align with AmeriCorps priority area of Education. The VISTA will establish a virtual education program for low‑income 3rd–9th grade students, whether fully online or blended classroom learning, and a meetings and conference technology program for the center. The role includes incorporating virtual, fun learning and possibly career‑choice programs such as arts, photography, film, video, science lab, and virtual field trips to broaden students’ world view. By creating these systems, the VISTA will help alleviate poverty and sustain resources at the youth center.
Responsibilities
Establish and manage a virtual education program for low‑income 3rd–9th grade students.
Coordinate meetings and conference technology for the center.
Incorporate career‑choice programs (arts, science labs, virtual field trips).
Support students and families with virtual learning systems.

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Age 18 or older.
Strong communication, leadership, technology, teaching, youth development, public speaking, and education skills.
Program start: 01/12/2026. End: 01/11/2027. Full‑time schedule.
Work location: Mississippi, Hattiesburg. English language required.
