Role Summary/Purpose: Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, installation, repair, fabrication, and preventative maintenance tasks on manufacturing equipment and Hydromat Rotary Transfer Machines. Position requires being on your feet all day and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. 80% machine repair and maintenance: 20% building repair and maintenance. Maintains clean and safe work environment in all production process areas. Supports production by assisting in secondary processes as needed.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Able to read blueprints (detail and assembly) and repair used components to new O.E.M. standards, including hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical components.

Ability to operate manual toolroom machines such as bandsaws, drill presses, vertical milling machines, lathes, and surface grinders.

CNC equipment setup highly preferred to support equipment repair.

Strong knowledge of cutting tools.

Familiarity with Fanuc robotics is a significant plus.

Perform preventive maintenance tasks to enhance equipment reliability.

Collaborate with production personnel to identify and address causes of mechanical downtime.

Possess electrical skills for installing and troubleshooting various systems.

Current experience with MIG/TIG welding, forklifts, cranes, and lift trucks.

Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Knowledge of OSHA standards.

Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and electrical schematic drawings.

Perform metal fabrication tasks as needed, including cutting, welding, and finishing.

Perform plumbing, pneumatic, and millwright duties as required.

Understanding of AC and DC motors, VFD/VSD drives, and ability to safely troubleshoot circuits of various voltages (110/120, 220, 480).

Evaluate equipment condition and determine appropriate follow‑up actions.

Identify opportunities for improvement in production processes and document actions/results.

Train operators and others in the proper operation and maintenance of equipment.

Ability to read and understand ladder logic for troubleshooting programmable logic controllers (PLCs).

Familiarity with spare parts inventory control systems.

Operate mobile equipment including forklifts, manlifts, scissor lifts, and overhead cranes.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work to minimize process interruptions.

Assist mechanics and operators as needed in a multi‑task environment.

Make informed decisions regarding equipment repairs and work independently.

Ability to work well with others is essential.

Qualifications / Requirements

Associate degree (AA) in Industrial Electronics Technology or Precision Machining preferred but not required.

Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Strong team‑building skills.

Knowledge of manufacturing operations and practices preferred.

Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

Ability to counsel and motivate workforce.

Proven ability to complete assignments successfully and on time.

Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability Ability to use common sense and the understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of machine control interface on the Hydromat machine. AutoDesk 2D & 3D Software proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel. ERP system knowledge.
