High Focus Centers in Farmington is a premier provider of outpatient treatment programs for mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders. Our highly trained staff create individualized, comprehensive, and robust treatment plans designed to meet each client’s treatment goals. We are currently seeking a Counselor Assistant to join our amazing team of behavioral healthcare professionals. Location: 17 Talcott Notch Rd, Farmington, CT 06032
Schedule: Full-time 40 hours/week Monday‑Friday
Hourly Rate: $20/hour – $23/hour
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Assist individuals in establishing necessary connections with available supports in the community that facilitate initiation and ongoing engagement in the recovery process.
Assist individuals in developing and solidifying long‑term recovery supports, and providing services before, during, and following an individual’s engagement in the treatment continuum.
Provide opportunities for individuals to direct their own recovery plan and supports, build self‑worth, wellness, empowerment, and self‑advocacy.
Work with the individual’s family, service and treatment providers, other programs, and community supports to assist in achievement of these goals.
Initiate and develop treatment planning goals through contact with clients, family, colleagues, and other staff.
Perform individual and process group therapy sessions under the direction of the treatment supervisor, including preparing materials for sessions.
Manage client files.
Communicate with referral sources and company representatives.
Attend treatment team meetings with psychiatrist and staff.
Participate in community meetings with clients.
Complete family sessions as necessary.
Prepare utilization reviews with appropriate funding sources as needed.
Maintain client caseload daily.
Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services or related field.
