To create and sustain a positive health, safety, and environmental (HSE) culture for 2 US-based warehouses using a structured approach that integrates leadership commitment, employee engagement, and continual improvement.
The role requires a blend of leadership, technical knowledge, and analytical skills to lead HSE programs, assess risk and monitor performance ensuring compliance with applicable HSE regulations, Atmus internal requirements, and ISO14001/45001 standards.

We are looking for a talented HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER to join our team.
Location Walton KY – Onsite
Travel Required and Percentage Once or twice a quarter or twice a year to Dallas by discretion.
Days/Hours of Operation Monday to Friday - 8am to 4:30-5pm is a REQUIREMENT (You MUST take into consideration drive time and commute time if you live outside of Walton KY).
Experience
Significant experience (>5 years) in a related field, such as safety or environmental management, is required
Experience in manufacturing, warehousing or distribution environments preferred
Previous experience of supporting a multi-site operation preferred.
Familiar with ISO 14001/45001 standards with experience with HSE management system audits preferred.
Responsibilities In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Builds strong relationships with the site leadership team to ensure understanding and accountability for their roles and responsibilities in driving a positive health, safety and environmental culture.
Ensures employee consultation and participation in the development and implementation of programs, procedures and improvement suggestions.
Embeds HSE considerations into all operational processes, from shipping and receiving to maintenance and procurement.
Leads health and safety hazard identification, environmental aspect identification and risk assessment programs to identify risk reduction opportunities
Determines compliance obligations through regular reviews and adopt necessary operational controls to demonstrate compliance, including management of permits and licenses.
Interfaces with external regulatory bodies as required with the support of the legal department.
Sets site HSE targets and objectives aligned with the Atmus HSE Goal Tree and drives actions to completion, supporting the global HSE team in developing an overall HSE business strategy.
Manages a training and competency program identifying required HSE competencies for each role and ensuring all training is current and effective
Establishes comprehensive, easy-to-understand HSE procedures and communicates them frequently through multiple channels (meetings, signage, digital displays)
Develops and manages support documentation ensuring it is up to date, controlled and available while adhering to data privacy regulations.
Leads daily health, safety and environmental operations within the site(s) providing subject matter expertise on complex issues, including but not limited to HSE compliance, capital and resource management, risk reduction, site security, incident investigation, management of change, contractor safety, emergency preparedness and response, pollution prevention and environmental sustainability.
Drives improvement to HSE performance metrics using a risk-based and data-driven approach.
Adheres to Atmus internal reporting requirements using HSE IT systems (Benchmark Gensuite / Enhesa).
Leads site(s) Health, Safety, Environmental Management Systems ensuring legal compliance and ISO 14001/45001 audits are completed to schedule.
Leads work cross-functionally as required to resolve work-related incidents and nonconformities, implementing improvement actions to drive continual improvement within the site(s).
Coaches and develops direct reports and cross-functional teams based on stakeholder feedback, observations and succession plan needs.
Actively seeks opportunities for self-development through professional HSE organizations, attendance of events and webinars.
Qualifications
Ability to build trust with employees through visible leadership commitment, actively listening to feedback and participating in safety walks, meetings, and incident investigations
Ability to build a strong safety culture, motivate peers and employees, delegate tasks, resolve conflicts, and communicate HSE expectations clearly to all levels of staff.
Deep understanding of applicable HSE regulations (e.g., OSHA), hazard identification and risk assessment, emergency response planning, and the use of safety equipment and technology.
Using data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement
Experience in implementing and evaluating HSE programs, conducting training sessions, managing documentation, and leading audits and inspections.
Ability to manage multiple safety technology and improvement projects simultaneously.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
A bachelor's degree in a related field like occupational health, environmental science, or engineering required.
Professional certification such as the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
Position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Base salary range $115,539 to $128,375/year
Compensation and Benefits Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, other personal and professional benefits.
