Job Title Sr. Process Engineer

Summary As a Senior Process Engineer, you’ll play a key role in optimizing manufacturing processes, improving production efficiency, and ensuring stable, high‑quality operations. At our Friendly, WV site, you’ll lead projects and initiatives that drive continuous improvement across the plant—translating data, experience, and innovation into real operational gains. You’ll work closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to strengthen process performance, resolve challenges, and support a culture focused on safety, reliability, and quality. Your expertise will help shape how the site operates today while building a stronger, more efficient foundation for the future.

Please note that this role requires onsite presence five days per week, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities Include Safety, Compliance & Process Safety

Demonstrate a strong commitment to personal safety and the safety of employees, contractors, company assets, and the surrounding community.

Ensure compliance with Momentive’s EHS Management Systems, cybersecurity requirements, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

Maintain responsibility for safe execution of project and maintenance activities involving both Momentive employees and external contractors or vendors.

Partner with site EHS to support Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, including Management of Change (MOC), Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), Pre‑Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), and Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA).

Key Job Responsibilities

Provide technical support to resolve production challenges related to product quality, equipment performance, material balances, and process yields.

Coordinate product translations and supports new product introductions (NPIs) to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient integration into manufacturing.

Identify and recommend process and equipment improvements to enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve batch cycle times.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives using structured CI methodologies and tools.

Identify opportunities for material usage optimization and cost reduction and lead projects through implementation.

Drive efforts to reduce waste and improve sustainability across plant processes.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications The following are required for the role

BS degree or higher in Chemical Engineering.

5+ years of experience as a Production or Process Engineer in an industrial chemical manufacturing environment.

Demonstrated knowledge of batch and continuous chemical processes.

Strong safety consciousness, strong EHS awareness and familiarity with EHS requirements.

Excellent interpersonal skills are essential.

Proven problem‑solving skills in a manufacturing environment, including the ability to troubleshoot process problems and implement corrective actions.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook / Office / Excel / PowerPoint – computer basics.

Ability to multi‑task and manage multiple projects.

The following are preferred qualifications:

Technical knowledge in industrial equipment and chemical products.

Familiarity with the following:

SAP

OSI PI data management platform

DeltaV & ABB DCS

CI Lean methodology, Six‑sigma, Lean Six‑sigma, 5S experience

Process Safety Management knowledge (MOC, PSSR, PHA, LOPA)

What We Offer Base Pay Range: $90,500 - $133,100

The actual salary offered is determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill set(s), and geography. Local geographic pay differentials may not be reflected in the above pay range and will be discussed with you by a member of the HR team when applicable.

Additionally, this role is eligible for incentive or sales variable compensation payments. The amount of these incentives is based on the terms of the Company's incentive plans, the Company's financial performance, and/or individual employee job performance.
