Construction Estimator Ultimate Staffing is actively seeking a Construction Estimator for a large Mechanical Company in San Diego. As an Estimator you will be responsible for all phases of the estimating and bidding process including preconstruction services and performing estimate takeoffs. Thorough knowledge of the mechanical construction bidding processes is required.

Base Pay Range $10,000.00/yr - $1,100,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

Bid document review, pre-bid meetings, client interface

Plumbing system sizing and layout from incomplete bid documents

Quantity takeoff, material, equipment and subcontractor pricing

Spreadsheet input and proposal preparation using Autobid estimating software

On site and/or in-house estimating on design-assist and design-build projects to direct the design to meet the budget

Interface with construction project teams and CAD detailing staff

Knowledge of safety, workers’ compensation, insurance and bonding as it pertains to bidding requirements

Other duties may be assigned

Required Qualifications

Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

Must prioritize in a fast-paced multi-task environment with strong organization skills

Must have demonstrated ability to perform basic business mathematical functions

Must effectively manage time and details

Must interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Must have organizational skills in handling & archiving technical data

Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 3-5 years in HVAC/Plumbing/Mechanical experience and proficiency in the preparation of large and complex bid proposals of all types.

Computer Skills Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, Bluebeam, MS Outlook, and Autobid piping estimating systems.

Other Details DH opportunity: Monday - Friday Onsite location Salary - $100,000 - $110,000 DOE
