We are currently seeking a CEI Senior Inspector to join our Jacksonville office.
What You’ll Do: The successful candidate will serve as a Senior Inspector on state and local projects within the Greater Jacksonville area and various local jurisdictions. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Project Administrator.
Key Responsibilities:
Reads contract plans, specifications, shop drawings, and regulatory agency manuals.
Supervises subordinate inspectors responsible for monitoring work quality and performance.
Reviews project activities with contractor's field supervision to resolve disputes and other project issues.
Performing work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator/ Project Engineer.
Read and interpret construction contract language.
Oversees all construction activities such as paving, pipe placement, excavations and backfill operations, pile driving, structure placement, steel reinforcement, concrete pouring, signalization, and lighting.
Possess current material testing certifications applicable for earthwork, asphalt, concrete, pile driving, drilled shafts.
Material testing and documentation of acceptance. Coordinate and manage the lower‑level inspectors and verification testing.
Verifies certification of materials.
Inspection of and documentation of contractor’s quality of work.
Tracks quality assurance progress.
Inspect traffic control devices and report deficiencies to ensure compliance with standards.
Assists in directing and teaching the daily activities of less experienced staff.
Prepare daily and weekly reports on work accomplished by contractor and reviews periodical pay estimates with contractor for accuracy and track quantities of completed work.
Perform field inspection of contractors’ operations to confirm compliance with contract documents; prepare inspection reports.
Prepare sketches and assemble data for Project Administrator to utilize when making changes to the project.
Participate in developing job safety practices and observe general job safety practices.
Monitor and inspect the Work Zone Traffic Control (in accordance with the client’s requirements).
Review/coordinate and prepare responses to project correspondence, RFIs and technical submittals.
Adhere to company marketing requirements by providing timely resume updates and participating in marketing campaigns.
Ensure timely completion of time sheets and expense reports.
Provides on‑the‑job training to new employees.
Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
What You’ll Bring:
High school graduate or equivalent.
For personnel without engineering, engineering technology or construction management degrees:
Four (4) years of CEI experience in roadway or bridge construction.
Ability to earn additional required qualifications within one year, as required by job assignments to include:
CTQP Final Estimates Level I
CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I
CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges)
CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level II

Good understanding of construction specifications and plans, with ability to read, interpret and explain construction plans, contract provisions, specifications, and inspection procedures.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
Knowledge of FDOT specification and standards.
Ability to effectively lead a team of inspectors.
Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing), and have excellent analytical, technical and communication skills.
Ability to work weekends, nights, and swing shifts if required on assigned projects.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Demonstrated proficiency in the full suite of Microsoft Office programs and Adobe Acrobat.
Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
Performance Expectations:
Complete Annual Individual Training Program.
Comply with all PRIME AE policies and procedures.
Establish strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and design engineers.
Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target.
Complete all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting the scope.
