We are looking for a motivated and experienced Human Resources & Payroll Specialist to join our Cymbiotika team! As a Human Resources & Payroll Specialist, you will be managing day-to-day HR functions and payroll processing for the organization, reporting to the CFO, and serving as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, supporting onboarding and offboarding, and ensuring compliance with company policies and employment regulations.

Position Overview The HR & Payroll Specialist will manage day-to-day HR functions and payroll processing for the organization. This role reports to the CFO and serves as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, supports onboarding and offboarding, and ensures compliance with company policies and employment regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

Key Responsibilities Payroll Administration

Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time, including wage calculations, deductions, and compliance with federal and state regulations.

Maintain payroll records and ensure proper reporting for audits and tax filings.

Coordinate with Finance for payroll-related journal entries and reconciliations.

Manage payroll through a PEO platform and ensure accurate integration with NetSuite.

HR Operations

Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including offer letters, new hire paperwork, and exit documentation.

Serve as the internal point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and HR-related issues.

Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy.

Support benefits administration and annual open enrollment.

Performance & Compliance

Assist in coordinating employee review cycles and performance management processes.

Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and confidentiality standards.

Support HR reporting and analytics for leadership.

Culture & Engagement

Partner with leadership to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Assist with employee engagement initiatives and internal communications.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

3+ years of experience in HR and payroll administration.

Experience working with a PEO (Professional Employer Organization) required.

Experience with NetSuite ERP is a plus.

Strong knowledge of payroll systems and HRIS platforms.

Familiarity with California employment laws and compliance requirements.

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
