Feed Mill Supervisor - Temperanceville Feed Mill (Snow Hill) - 1st Shift
We are seeking a Feed Mill Supervisor for our Temperanceville Feed Mill located in Snow Hill. The supervisor will oversee daily feed production on the 1st shift, ensuring efficient and high quality poultry feed.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily feed production operations and ensure efficient feed production.
Supervise ingredient mixing, grinding, and pelletizing processes and maintain feed quality standards.
Manage inventory and storage of raw materials and finished feed and coordinate deliveries.
Lead and train feed mill operators and production staff, promote a culture of safety, efficiency, and teamwork.
Maintain compliance with regulatory guidelines (FDA, USDA, FSMA) and feed safety protocols.
Oversee sampling and testing of feed ingredients to ensure quality and nutritional accuracy.
Ensure compliance with biosecurity and sanitation requirements.
Work with maintenance team to ensure proper functioning of equipment, schedule routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
Maintain accurate records of production data, ingredient usage, and maintenance activities; analyze metrics to identify process improvements.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in agriculture, animal science, feed manufacturing, or related field preferred.
3+ years of experience in feed mill operations or a similar production environment.
Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of feed formulation, processing, and quality control.
Familiarity with animal feed regulatory requirements.
Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for feed mill equipment.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.
Preferred Skills
Experience in poultry or livestock feed production.
Knowledge of safety and environmental compliance in feed milling.
Ability to operate and adjust automated feed mill equipment.
Physical Requirements
Work in a feed mill environment with dust, noise, and temperature variations.
Capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call shifts.
