Bookkeeper – Residential Construction – Empire Remodeling KC
Location: Kansas City, MO (serving the metro area)
Empire Remodeling is a family‑owned, process‑driven residential remodeler serving the greater Kansas City area. With 700+ completed projects and a steady pipeline of work year‑round, we run on clear systems, tight workflows, and adult‑level accountability. Our goal is simple: remove financial friction so the field team can build great work and clients have a calm, professional experience.
We are hiring a Bookkeeper to own day‑to‑day financial accuracy, AR/AP, job costing support, reconciliations, and clean books, while working closely with ownership and project management.
Key Responsibilities
Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor bills, client invoices, and collections
Reconcile bank and credit card accounts; maintain accurate general ledger records
Support job costing by tracking expenses to projects and flagging discrepancies early
Prepare weekly/monthly financial reports for ownership (cash flow, aging, job cost summaries)
Process payroll data and coordinate with payroll service/provider
Maintain organized digital records (receipts, invoices, lien waivers, contracts)
Coordinate with CPA on monthly close, quarterly filings, and year‑end
Qualifications
3 or more years of bookkeeping experience (construction or job‑costing environment strongly preferred)
Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks or similar)
High attention to detail and comfort working with numbers and deadlines
Organized, process‑oriented, and able to work independently
Professional communication skills and discretion with sensitive information
Compensation & Benefits
Employment Type: Full‑time, W‑2 employee
Hourly rate at $30, based on experience
Bonus based on performance
