Essential Job Duties:
ICU assistant procedures include IV catheter placement, urinary catheterization, blood transfusions, blood pressure monitoring, fluid input/output, hourly treatments, patient rounds with coworkers and doctors.
Responsibilities
Perform IV, urinary, and nasal catheter placement.
Monitor critically ill patients and provide ongoing care.
Calculate and dose medications accurately.
Assist with hourly treatments and patient rounds with coworkers and doctors.
Perform blood transfusions and manage fluid input/output.
Requirements and Preferences
Work Schedule: Various hours, nights, weekends.
Minimum Experience/Education: Prefer previous experience in specialty/ICU as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant.
Department Required Skills: Monitoring critically ill patients, performing catheter placements, dosing medications, strong communication, and quick learning ability.
Preferred Experience: Previous ICU specialty work as a veterinary technician or assistant.
Valid NC Driver's License: No.
Commercial Driver's License: No.
Required License or Certification: None.
Recruitment Details Anticipated Hiring Range: $20-$28 per hour, commensurate with experience.
