$45,000.00 - $50,500.00

Schedule:

PRN, Night Shift – 7:00 pm – 7:00 am

About the Role Mercy Behavioral Health Hospital, a joint venture of Mercy Health and Lifepoint Health, provides exceptional care to patients with substance abuse, dual diagnosis, and psychiatric or emotional disorders. As an Assessment Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring timely and effective assessment, admission, and treatment coordination.

Responsibilities

Receive inquiry calls and schedule face‑to‑face, phone, or tele‑assessment triages for individuals based on safety risk.

Conduct initial evaluations, document patient symptomology and functioning, and provide information to the medical doctor for level of care determination.

Screen for medical and behavioral emergency conditions and ensure assessment by a qualified mental health professional.

Perform comprehensive assessments and provide quality therapeutic care to patients seeking treatment for substance abuse, dual diagnosis, or psychiatric disorders.

Coordinate with the clinical team and on‑call physicians to meet patient needs at the facility or appropriate community providers.

Interpret treatment plans for patients and families, reducing fear and barriers to care.

Complete administrative processes of admission, pre‑certification of care with external payers, and maintain accurate paperwork.

Assist in nursing care by providing direct patient support under RN guidance and act as patient advocate.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or social work, with active RN or LSW licensure.

Previous experience in a behavioral health hospital (highly preferred).
