Job Overview
The Operations Manager (OMT) role at PDS Health involves gaining an understanding of the skills and company knowledge required to independently run a financially viable PDS‑supported dental office. The OMT completes the OM Development Program, supported by a direct supervisor, with expectations of being able to manage a dental office independently within 4–6 months upon program completion.
Responsibilities
Model company culture, values, and best operational practices based on the We Believe Behavioral Framework.
Assess, hire, and retain right‑fit team members through comprehensive training, supervision, counseling, and coaching.
Investigate and resolve staff and patient issues, providing timely, effective, logical, and creative solutions.
Execute the PDS Operational Model consistently with the Owner Dentist to meet office imperatives.
Drive year‑over‑year revenue and profit growth.
Manage expenses to achieve monthly goals and budget.
Adhere to cash management and accounting protocols.
Act as a catalyst for team development around the Perfect Patient Experience.
Provide effective leadership, coaching, and mentoring to identify and implement improvements.
Maintain professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with company policies.
Gain proficiency in people functions—assessment, hiring, retention, performance evaluation, separation processes, and compensation guidance.
Ensure compliance with company policies, state, federal, and regulatory bodies.
Report weekly to the Regional Manager detailing accomplishments, improvement areas, performance goals, and system effectiveness.
By the end of the development program, demonstrate competency in managing front and back office teams, displaying leadership and team development capabilities.
Develop and implement an office success plan, including staff development and office protocols during manager absences.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the direct supervisor that promote improved team development outcomes.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Five or more years of related operational management experience.
Valid driver's license and automobile insurance, verified by a motor vehicle record check at hire.
Capability to travel to multiple offices per day, using reliable transportation.
In lieu of a valid license, availability of alternate transportation for required travel.
Travel may be planned or unplanned and is subject to change without notice.
Preferred
Associate or Bachelor’s degree.
Five or more years leading and coaching subordinates.
