The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the accurate execution of freight activities across all shipping modes. This role ensures compliance with NMFC classification standards, carrier requirements, and customer‑specific routing protocols to prevent chargebacks and penalties. The coordinator upholds regulatory‑defined procedures, maintains shipment documentation accuracy, and supports adherence to applicable international shipping regulations and compliance processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: other duties may be assigned as needed.
Coordinate daily LTL and FTL shipments, selecting appropriate carriers, confirming pickup details, and ensuring timely dispatch
Interpret and apply NMFC classification rules and density‑based criteria to outbound shipments
Accurately prepare and review all required shipping documentation (including Bills of Lading and supporting paperwork), ensuring completeness and compliance with carrier, customer, and regulatory standards
Support Customer Service by responding to shipping inquiries, freight charge estimates, and documentation requests
Monitor shipment exceptions and accessorial charges; elevate recurring trends for operational or compliance improvement
Maintain shipping records, documentation, and exception logs in support of internal audits and KPI tracking
Coordinate trailer movements and internal transfers between facilities in collaboration with Inventory and Receiving
Prepare basic documentation for international shipments (e.g., commercial invoices, packing lists); coordinate with third‑party brokers and follow internal regulatory guidance
Ensure compliance with company‑defined processes and policies, including standards set forth by the Regulatory department
Verify shipment completeness and accuracy against pick lists and Bills of Lading before release
Communicate with drivers and assign dock doors for efficient loading and flow
Support annual physical inventory and collaborate inventory team to resolve discrepancies
Foster teamwork and uphold Betco’s mission and values
