Role Mission IDEA Assistant Principals of Instruction (APIs) are instructional leaders who manage, coach, and develop teachers to achieve ambitious results. They monitor student progress to ensure all students are on track for college.
What We Offer Compensation Salary range: $70,532–$82,170, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Eligible for a performance bonus based on team performance and goal attainment.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
At least 3 years of full‑time teaching experience.
Teacher leadership or administrative experience required.
Proven track record of success in a K‑12 setting.
Experience managing/coaching others preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of core academic subjects and ability to pass an IDEA content assessment.
Strong ability to coach teachers on curriculum and instruction.
Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Adaptability to diverse situations in the school environment.

What You’ll Do – Accountabilities (Illustrative)
Achieve 96% of students passing all classes (On Track to Graduate).
Meet 90% of students on Track, 60% Approaching, 30% Mastered on STAAR/EOC.
Ensure 60% of SpEd students attain “Approaches” on STAAR.
Achieve 75% sub‑populations (SpEd/ELL) meeting Index 2 STAAR growth.
Maintain 90% Student Persistence and 85% Teacher Retention.
Ensure 97.5% Average Daily Attendance.
Support 70% of students in K‑2 reaching growth goals via DIBELS.
Drive 30% of graduates to be named AP Scholars.
Help 50–60% of CSI students reach two‑year growth in reading/math.
Responsibilities
Lead instructional staff to meet measurable, ambitious outcomes.
Work with the principal to manage teacher portfolios and ensure campus expectations are met.
Coordinate onboarding of new teachers and provide daily observations, coaching, and data discussions.
Oversee TEKS‑aligned IDEA curricula and assessments.
Serve as primary point‑person for EB, Section 504, or CSI compliance.
Review weekly lesson plans and provide actionable feedback.
Analyze data to prioritize opportunities for improvement.
Communicate student progress to families and foster respectful relationships.
Implement and enforce a clear behavior management system.
Support tutoring sessions, grade‑level meetings, and weekly manager check‑ins.
Dedicate a minimum of 40 + hours per week on campus.
Additional duties may include recruitment, after‑school tutoring, or Saturday school.
