Ground Service Equipment Mechanic (GSE) – $36.00/hr

Required:
Class A Driver’s License; mechanical tools and toolbox.
As a member of Menzies Aviation’s GSE Mechanic team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient repair and rebuilding of airport service vehicles. You will inspect and identify defective parts on vehicles and perform repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles; make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Hydrate electric equipment according to the Hydration Schedule.
Repair all non‑motorized equipment.
Program and understand the functions of the Rapid Charger, including the Battery Monitor and Identification Device (BMID).
Repair and replace all tires and wheels.
Perform monthly, quarterly and annual quality control checks on equipment.
Maintain maintenance records.
Drive and operate service equipment vehicles.
Conduct accident inspections on involved equipment.
Report all accidents to Shop Supervisors and Managers.
Answer all radioed repair calls on the ramp.
Provide preventative care to equipment and timely repairs to support aircraft service operations.
Perform Daily Equipment Checks (DEC’s) on all GSE vehicles.
Maintain a safe and secure work environment in accordance with local health, safety, and security policies.
Qualifications
3 to 5 years of mechanical experience.
Minimum age of 18 years.
Valid US Class A driver’s license.
Pass pre‑employment background, physical test and drug screen.
Proficient in reading, writing and speaking English.
Capable of lifting/moving up to 70 pounds.
Available for variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
Will perform duties across all mechanic levels as operational needs dictate.
Maintain an Airport Badge.
High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent education/experience.
Working Conditions Work may be performed outdoors in all weather conditions, near moving mechanical parts, high voltages, hydraulic/pneumatic pressures, loud noise, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous substances, and in high, precarious places. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
Physical Requirements Tasks include standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, climbing, balancing, talking and hearing. Tasks may involve digging, shoveling, debris removal, lifting up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 70 lbs occasionally.
