Power Generation Data Center Lead HDR, a leading engineering consulting firm, seeks a Power Generation Data Center Lead to work in our Power Generation Practice. The role involves leading consulting services for data center and mission‑critical projects, collaborating across multiple internal groups, and managing client relationships from pre‑positioning through project completion.

You have leadership experience and are looking for a leadership position where you can collaborate internally to drive growth in the data center market. You possess significant experience with the development, specification, and negotiation of power generation systems for simple cycle, combined cycle, cogeneration, distributed generation, reciprocating engines, combined heat and power, microgrids, and renewable projects, and have proven ability to plan, schedule, and lead complex design and consulting assignments.

Primary Responsibilities The primary duties involve leading Power Generation consulting services in support of data center and mission critical projects through collaboration across several internal organizations, client interaction, and leading a multi‑disciplinary team of direct and indirect reports.

Specific Responsibilities

Work closely with leads representing Power Generation, Power Delivery, Data Centers, Due Diligence, and Industrial services.

Provide oversight for the coordination, quality, and timely completion of Power Generation projects or programs in support of data centers.

Serve key roles as necessary in projects and pursuits.

Coordinate the involvement and input of multi‑disciplinary teams in support of development of power generation solutions in support of data centers.

Support client relationships, marketing, project execution, and collaboration meetings.

Perform other duties as needed – a specific interest in leading high‑performing teams and collaborating within the HDR matrix with the goal of supporting our data center response.

Present at industry and client events to support HDR brand awareness.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in business or engineering.

Expertise in power market and nexus between power and technology with rapid deployment requirements.

Experience supporting large demand customers such as data centers with infrastructure development.

Preferred experience working with a variety of client types including regulated and non‑regulated utilities, independent power producers, municipalities, and other public and private clients.

Knowledge of electric power system, market participants, energy contracts and transactions, project finance, and utility‑scale and distributed power generation technologies.

Client development and management skills with a strong ability to maintain a high standard of quality.

Demonstrated leadership skills.

Ability to travel to in‑person meetings with clients.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field.

10 years related experience.

Minimum of 5 years of project management experience.

Familiar with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, project management software.

Excellent organizational, project management, and communication (both written and verbal) skills; ability to interact with various design teams.

The targeted salary range for this position is $169,575 – $232,050.
