Early Career Civil Engineer

Boise, Idaho, U.S.
Job Description You will work with our Facilities Civil/Structural Team and help on projects spanning food & beverage, federal, and industrial facility design. This role involves grading and drainage design for new building sites, remodels, and additions, providing utility delivery, access road design, permitting, and construction support.
Your Impact
Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Be involved in all aspects of transmission line design for new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic additions.
Utilize terrain modeling software such as AutoCAD Civil3D to communicate 3‑D design to project teams, owners, and construction professionals.
Take ownership of projects; decision making is encouraged, not micromanaged.
Assume ownership of the project's goals and success; maintain quality through thorough QA/QC.
Self‑motivation and continuous improvement to deliver the best results.
Compensation for this role is a combination of salary and a bonus structure based on your performance.
Who You Are – Required Qualifications
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and compliance with WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an accredited university.
0–1 years of experience, able to exercise independent judgment and adapt engineering principles, procedures, and code requirements.
EIT license required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
Effective prioritization, setting deadlines, and ability to adapt to change.
Adaptable, problem‑solving mindset, eager to learn and apply new technologies with support.
Strong written and oral communication in English.
Self‑management and ability to produce results.
Ability to maintain and develop relationships with existing and potential clients and respond to evolving responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil3D or Microstation Inroads.
Relevant coursework in hydrology, fluid mechanics, soil mechanics, foundational design, and surveying.
Previous internship or drafting experience related to civil and/or civil engineering.
