Summary
We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. You'll collaborate with other designers and engineers to create and manufacture roof curb and curb‑adapter products. You'll take products from concept to production, focusing on design, manufacturing efficiency, and industry standards. This position offers the opportunity to thrive in a fast‑paced, innovative environment.
Responsibilities
Design curbs, curb‑adapters, and related products using SOLIDWORKS and other software. Maintain 3D part and assembly models, drawings, and BOMs.
Provide solutions and direction for challenges. Use experience and scientific theory to identify root causes.
Initiate activities to improve product quality, production efficiency, and reduce costs.
Design, document, and test prototype products, analyze results, and implement design changes.
Work with engineering, sales, purchasing, and production teams to ensure accurate and efficient product development.
Provide technical direction and support to sales teams.
Offer daily support to manufacturing teams, solving production‑related issues.
Participate in meetings to keep processes and designs up to date.
Manage and support ERP system data.
Qualifications
Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, proficiency in SOLIDWORKS or similar software, strong computer skills, mechanical aptitude, proven ability to solve complex problems, and good communication skills.
Preferred: Relevant sheet metal part design experience, knowledge of Microsoft Excel programming in VBA or Python, and the ability to manage projects with varying levels of supervision.
Additional Information
Onsite presence: Must be onsite for at least 40 hours per week.
Physical activity: Ability to access manufacturing areas, lift/move parts up to 50 lbs., and stand for 6‑8 hours per day.
Other duties: Responsibilities may evolve over time due to changes in business needs and market conditions. Employees must remain adaptable and be open to taking on new tasks or modifying existing duties.
