We are seeking a skilled Estimator for our Heavy Civil team who will play a crucial role in the preparation of detailed cost estimates for construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and experience with various aspects of heavy construction, including excavation, underground utilities, bridges, and roadworks.
Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects
Analyze project plans and specifications to determine project requirements
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to assess project feasibility and costs
Conduct site visits to gather information for accurate estimating
Review and compare bids from subcontractors and suppliers
Prepare and present bid proposals to clients
Monitor project costs and provide updates throughout the construction process
Maintain organized records of estimates and project documents
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator in heavy civil construction
Proficient in estimating software and tools
Strong knowledge of excavation, underground utilities, pipe, roads, sewer, water, stormwater, gas, bridges, and site work
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
