Overview A well-established New York–based public accounting firm is hiring a Staff Accountant to support continued growth. This role is ideal for early-career accountants seeking long-term stability, broad exposure, and a sustainable public accounting environment.
Responsibilities
Support preparation and review of client financial statements and general ledgers.
Assist with bookkeeping clean-up and monthly/quarterly close activities.
Prepare basic tax projections and support individual and small business tax filings.
Work directly with clients to gather information and answer routine accounting questions.
Utilize accounting and tax software to maintain accurate client records.
Collaborate closely with senior accountants and partners in a hands-on team environment.
Qualifications
1+ year of experience in public accounting or a small accounting/bookkeeping firm.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (CPA track a plus, not required).
Exposure to both accounting and tax work preferred.
Experience with QuickBooks (Desktop and/or Online) strongly preferred.
Familiarity with CCH Axcess or similar tax software is a plus.
Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a client-facing role.
