New York City or Floral Park, Long Island (Hybrid)

Overview A growing public accounting firm in the New York metro area is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support expanding client demand and overall firm growth.
This is a hands‑on, client‑facing role for an experienced accountant who places a strong emphasis on client relationships, quality work, and reasonable workloads, particularly during busy season.
Responsibilities
Review and oversee client financial statements and general ledger activity
Lead bookkeeping reviews and clean‑ups
Prepare and review tax projections and returns for individuals and closely held businesses
Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients
Identify accounting issues, propose solutions, and communicate clearly with clients
Mentor junior staff and review work as appropriate
Work closely with partners on client service and workflow management
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in public accounting
Background in small or regional public accounting firms strongly preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or CPA candidate preferred but not required
Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks (Desktop and Online)
Experience with CCH Axcess Tax and Engagement or similar platforms preferred
Comfortable handling both tax and accounting work
Professional, personable, and client‑service oriented
