Senior Recruiter - Professional Division at StaffSource
The Accountant is responsible for performing day-to-day financial tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the month-end and year-end close processes. This role ensures compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements while providing timely and accurate financial information to management.
Base pay range: $52,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities General Accounting
Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation calculations.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
Process invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments.
Monitor accounts payable aging and assist in vendor management.
Prepare customer invoices and monitor accounts receivable aging.
Assist with collections efforts when necessary.
Prepare financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis.
Compile data for audits and collaborate with external auditors.
Compliance & Process Improvement
Maintain documentation and support internal controls.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2–4 years of accounting experience preferred.
Strong understanding of GAAP.
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Skills
Experience in month-end close.
Knowledge of payroll accounting is a plus.
