Job Summary The Financial Administration Senior Analyst, Assistant Vice‑President ("AVP") oversees the analysis, monitoring, and implementation of expense budgets as well as ensures timely payment of fund expenses. Additionally, AVPs coordinate and review the monthly and annual excise distribution processes, along with other reporting such as Total Returns, Board reporting and year‑end tax reporting requirements. The AVP collaborates with other members of Financial Administration to support the review of monthly, semi‑annual and annual reports for investment companies in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ("GAAP") and Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") requirements as they relate to core functions previously mentioned.
Primary contact for clients; respond proactively to internal and external client inquiries
Responsible for timely and accurate expense budgeting and payments
Coordinating and reviewing the monthly and annual excise distribution process
Overseeing monthly and quarterly client reporting (e.g., Total Returns and preparation of Board reports)
Coordinating fund year‑end reporting (e.g., 1099‑NEC and ICI Reporting)
Supporting the preparation and review of financial statements and SEC filings (e.g., N‑PORT, N‑MFP, N‑CSR, N‑CEN and 24F‑2, N‑1A etc.)
Demonstrating an advanced understanding of investment types, mutual funds, ETFs and financial markets
Leading training sessions to increase the team’s knowledge
Identifying and/or implementing process improvements to reduce risk and improve efficiency
Managing client projects and initiatives
Participating in department committees and other initiatives
Qualifications Job Specifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or business‑related area or equivalent work experience
5‑7 years accounting or reporting experience in the registered investment company or financial services industry
Prior team lead or supervisory experience preferred
Experience with FIS InvestOne fund accounting platform, including MBOR and OLE functionality, is a plus
Experience with Confluence Unity platform, including Publishing and Workbook functionality, is a plus
Advanced experience working with Microsoft Office applications required, specifically Excel
Excellent attention to detail, a sense of urgency for deadlines, and solid organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills to foster client and internal relationships
Oversee the completion of daily workflow in accordance to internal controls and procedures
Proactively balance team resources and workflow requirements
Willingness to work outside of normal work hours when necessary, particularly during peak production cycles
Conduct monthly coaching/feedback sessions with direct staffEscalate issues timely and appropriately to senior management
Develop/deliver executive summary reporting to senior management and clients
Oversee projects effectively
