The Opportunity
As an
Accounts Payable Specialist , you will play a critical role in maintaining the financial backbone that supports our science, operations, and growth. You’ll own the day-to-day execution of accounts payable while partnering closely with Accounting and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement as the company scales. This role is ideal for an AP professional who enjoys operational excellence

wants to contribute to our systems, audits, and process improvement in a fast-growing, mission-driven organization. What You’ll Do
Own the processing and management of PO and non-PO vendor invoices with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance Route invoices for approval, proactively follow up on exceptions, and resolve payment issues Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies Ensure accurate general ledger coding and cost allocation, partnering with stakeholders through regular review meetings Support month-end close activities, including AP accruals for consultants, advertising, legal expenses, and other services Process employee expense reports through Concur Manage monthly affiliate payments Maintain 1099 eligibility records and support annual filings Assist with fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals Support sales and use tax filings for applicable states Participate in quarterly and year-end audit processes Identify opportunities to improve AP workflows, controls, or systems as the company grows Contribute to special projects and evolving department priorities What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or
equivalent practical experience 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting Working knowledge of general ledger systems; experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems preferred Comfort working independently while staying highly responsive and detail-oriented Strong follow-through, organization, and problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to improve or streamline accounting or AP processes in a growing environment Who Thrives Here
