Tax Services Senior Analyst – State & Local Tax Edge, Income Tax

Opportunity: EY’s Financial Services Organization (FSO) is dedicated to delivering exceptional tax and finance solutions to the most transformative financial institutions worldwide. The State & Local Tax Edge practice provides specialized tax technical services to both U.S. and global clients. As a Senior Analyst in this practice, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver creative tax compliance and consulting solutions while building long‑lasting client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze an evolving portfolio of complex tax operations to provide meaningful business insights
Identify potential opportunities and risks and communicate these to clients
Research current market trends to maintain credibility as a trusted advisor
Develop clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve clients’ tax activities
Research clients’ business operations and build long‑lasting relationships to tailor advice to their specific needs
Work with a motivated team of professionals to deliver high‑quality solutions
Build effective long‑term relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
Maintain your reputation in the field by constantly updating and sharing your technical and best practice knowledge
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline or a graduate degree in Tax or Law
Progress towards CPA or Enrolled Agent license
A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in professional services or a professional tax organization
A thorough understanding of automated tax processing systems and laws within your area of technical professionalism
Excellent collaboration, negotiation and communication skills, and the confidence to challenge senior colleagues and stakeholders
A commitment to continuous learning and professional development
Ideal – thorough understanding of state and local partnership tax, proficiency in Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), experience with return preparation software and experience working in cross‑functional teams

Competitive base salary range for U.S. locations: $81,900–$135,100 (national); $98,400–$153,600 for major metropolitan areas
