Senior Accountant and Consultant at DWC CPAs, LLC
DWC CPAs LLC is looking for an accounting team member with bookkeeping, payroll and tax experience to join our growing Firm. The ideal candidate will have an associate degree in accounting or business, a minimum of two (2) years of bookkeeping, payroll and / or tax experience and the following qualifications and experience.

Associate degree in accounting or business -

A minimum of two (2) years of bookkeeping, payroll tax and / or income tax preparation experience -
Required
Experience with QuickBooks or comparable accounting platform –
Required
Experience with Paychex or comparable payroll processing platform –
Required
Experience with UltraTax or comparable tax return preparation platform -
Preferred
Skilled with preparing bank reconciliations and journal entries
Skilled with processing after the fact payroll reports
Experience with payroll tax agency account set up and tax returns (940, 941, etc.)
Experience with supporting business and individual income tax return preparation processes
Able to work independently
Able to research when needed
Strong communication (written & oral), organization, and customer service skills
Confident working with highly sensitive/confidential information
Detail oriented and organized
Responsibilities
Work with St. Joseph and South Bend staff to provide bookkeeping, payroll and / or tax processing support to clients.
Process bookkeeping transactions, journal entries, financial statements and other reports for clients in QuickBooks or other software.
Reconcile client bank statements and other balance sheet accounts in QuickBooks or other software.
Process after-the-fact payroll for clients, including tax calculations and accounting entries, in Paychex or other software.
Process payroll tax returns clients in PayChex or other software.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of tax payments for withholdings and unemployment taxes, including periodic tax amendments, deposits and reconciliations.
Assist senior staff with the research and response to federal, state and local agency tax notices.
Support senior staff with income tax return preparation, including preparation of simple 1040s.
Report concerns to senior staff when issues are identified and/or escalated.
Ensure consistency in workflow and organization of files.
Provide back-up support to other accounting staff.
Maintain high degree of professionalism and strict confidentiality with accounting and payroll data.
Communicate easily with customers with understanding and empathy.
