Alpha School offers you the opportunity to direct the development of an AI‑powered, scalable literacy program. You will design adaptive workshop experiences, interpret live student performance metrics, and partner with engineering teams to create literacy systems that multiply your influence across hundreds of learners.
What You Will Be Doing
Facilitating adaptive reading workshops focused on building core competencies in phonics, fluency, and comprehension.
Creating individualized motivational experiences that resonate with students and foster enduring enthusiasm for reading.
Evaluating student performance metrics to iteratively improve your methods and identify meaningful trends.
Working alongside technical staff to assess and refine AI‑based literacy platforms.
Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with specialized certification in reading pedagogy (e.g., Orton‑Gillingham, Wilson, or equivalent).
Minimum 2 years of experience conducting small‑group reading interventions with early elementary students.
Capable of evaluating reading proficiency, organizing student groups, and creating differentiated learning plans independent of pre‑packaged curricula.
Experienced with AI/adaptive learning platforms and able to adjust instruction based on student interactions within these systems.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Availability to work on‑site at one of our locations: Chantilly (Washington), VA; Lake Forest (Orange County), CA; San Francisco, CA; Miami, FL; or New York City, NY.

The compensation level is $60 USD/hour, which equates to $120,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year, with weekly payment periods.
