Company Overview Capital Insight Holdings Management is a diversified real estate investment firm specializing in hospitality, retail, and residential properties. In addition to managing our real estate portfolio, we provide family office accounting services, including trust and estate-related financial oversight. We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage complex accounting operations across our investments and family office functions.
Position Summary The Senior Accountant will be responsible for full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for a portion of the company’s real estate holdings and family office entities. This role requires strong technical expertise in real estate accounting, trust accounting, and compliance with GAAP/cash basis, as well as the ability to provide accurate and timely financial insights for management and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for a retail portfolio of properties.
Maintain accurate property-level general ledgers, including revenue recognition, expense allocation, and intercompany transactions.
Reconcile bank accounts, vendor statements, and tenant deposits, balance sheets, and tenant deposits.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for each property.
Support annual audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting for real estate entities.
Family Office & Trust Accounting
Maintain trust, estate, and other family office accounting records in compliance with applicable regulations.
Record and monitor investments, distributions, and other transactions related to family office accounts.
Prepare financial reports and schedules for trusts, estates, and other family office entities.
Ensure compliance with reporting requirements to beneficiaries and regulatory authorities.
General Accounting & Administration
Coordinate with third-party management companies, external auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel as needed.
Review and implement accounting policies and procedures for efficiency and internal control compliance.
Assist in ad-hoc financial analysis, reporting, and management decision-making.
Mentor and support junior accounting staff.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2+ years of experience in accounting, with a strong preference for public accounting, and/or real estate accounting, and/or family office accounting experience.
In-depth knowledge of GAAP, trust accounting, and real estate financial reporting.
Experience with property management systems and accounting software (Yardi preferred, MRI, or similar).
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Proactive problem-solving and process improvement mindset.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive family office information.
Compensation: $100k - 120K per year + bonus
