A privately held investment office in West Los Angeles is looking for a strong Senior Accountant to support a small, high-performing accounting and finance team. The organization oversees a wide mix of operating businesses, investment vehicles, real estate holdings, and personal entities, and requires someone who can manage complex, multi-entity accounting with precision and discretion.
Role Summary The Senior Accountant will take ownership of day‑to‑day and month‑end responsibilities across a broad portfolio of entities. This role is ideal for someone who is hands‑on, organized, and comfortable navigating a blend of corporate accounting, investment accounting, and family‑office‑style work. You will gain exposure to venture investments, private equity, real estate, fund activity, personal finances, and systems/process improvements.
Primary Responsibilities Core Accounting & Reporting
Oversee full‑cycle accounting for a range of corporate, investment, and personal entities.
Maintain general ledgers and perform comprehensive reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and investment activity.
Handle vendor payments, billing, A/P and A/R, and ensure accurate, timely posting of transactions.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Support budgeting, cash flow tracking, and various analytical projects.
Uphold internal accounting policies and strengthen financial controls.
Investment & Asset Accounting
Record and monitor activity related to venture, private equity, and real estate investments.
Maintain investment files and support reporting of capital calls, distributions, valuations, and ongoing activity.
Assist with internal and external reporting packages tied to investment performance.
Family Office & Multi‑Entity Support
Manage accounting for trusts, personal LLCs, investment vehicles, and other related entities.
Coordinate with tax and legal partners to ensure timely compliance and documentation.
Track intercompany activity and properly allocate shared costs.
Handle sensitive financial and personal information with a high level of discretion.
Tax & Compliance
Gather and prepare supporting documents for annual tax filings and tax planning initiatives.
Process Improvements
Contribute to refining accounting procedures, internal workflows, and financial controls.
Participate in the evaluation and rollout of new accounting tools, systems, and automation efforts.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
3–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
Experience with a family office, private investment environment, or complex multi‑entity structure required.
Solid knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with platforms such as Intacct, Bill.com, QuickBooks, or comparable tools.
Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow‑through.
Strong communication skills and professionalism when handling confidential information.
