What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle and PostgreSQL database software
Monitor database performance and implement solutions for optimization
Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including backups and recovery procedures
Manage database security, including user access and permissions
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, ensuring data integrity
What is Required (Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with a focus on Oracle and PostgreSQL
Proven expertise in Oracle database administration, including RAC, Data Guard, and performance tuning
Experience with PostgreSQL administration, including replication and performance tuning
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database)
Experience with database backup and recovery strategies and tools (e.g., RMAN for Oracle, pg_dump/pg_restore for Postgres)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
