Responsibilities
Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle and PostgreSQL database software
Monitor database performance and implement solutions to optimize efficiency
Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, and recovery procedures
Manage database security and user access in compliance with company policies
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, ensuring data integrity and performance
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with a focus on Oracle and PostgreSQL databases
Proven expertise in Oracle database administration, including RAC, Data Guard, and performance tuning
Demonstrable experience with PostgreSQL administration, including replication and performance tuning
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with cloud database services such as AWS RDS or Azure SQL Database
Experience with database backup and recovery strategies and tools like RMAN for Oracle and pg_dump/pg_restore for Postgres
Solid understanding of SQL, PL/SQL, and database scripting languages such as Bash or Python
