This position is a technical specialist responsible for maintaining the public safety communication network. Incumbents must hold a valid FCC certificate or license (listed in the Minimum Qualifications) and must interpret FCC regulations related to LMR and microwave communications.
Core responsibilities include:
Performing all technician duties required to ensure uninterrupted operation of public safety communication systems.
Applying comprehensive knowledge of MPLS, LSPs, LDP/RSVP‑TE, IPS, VPWS, VPLS, and VPRN to troubleshoot and optimize network performance.
Planning, organizing, overseeing, and coordinating the work of other technicians within assigned geographic sectors or microwave areas.
Ensuring quality, quantity, and timeliness standards are met; obtaining necessary resources and facilitating communications with individuals, organizations, and partner public safety agencies.

Working Conditions In Office : This role supports day‑to‑day business operations fully from an office location and is not a hybrid telework position.
DMV Pull Program : Participation is mandatory. A valid California Driver’s License (CDL) is required. Applicants must provide CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements or restrictions.
The incumbent must reside within a one‑hour response time of headquarters; candidates outside this radius must be willing to relocate.
