We are seeking a hands‑on

Data Center Optical Engineer

to support the installation, operation, and troubleshooting of optical and network infrastructure in large‑scale data center environments. This role focuses on racking, cabling, optical testing, break‑fix support, and remote hands services while meeting strict SLAs and customer quality standards.

This is an on‑site role with shift flexibility, including nights and weekends as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Perform break‑fix, troubleshooting, and hardware replacement for optical, network, and IT equipment.

Provide remote hands support by executing MOPs, engineering documentation, and vendor procedures.

Rack, stack, cable, label, and decommission data center equipment.

Test and turn up 10G–100G circuits using OTDR, power meters, BERT, RFC2544, Y.1564, and iPerf.

Install and troubleshoot fiber and copper cabling (SM/MM, CAT5/6, LC, RJ45).

Support AC/DC power systems, redundancy, and hot/cold aisle management.

Conduct site audits and maintain accurate documentation.

Coordinate with internal teams, customers, and on‑site vendors to meet SLAs.

Must‑Have Qualifications

3–5 years of experience in data center operations or optical/network support.

Hands‑on experience with racking, cabling, break‑fix, and optical testing.

Working knowledge of Ethernet, IP, and optical transport networks.

Ability to read and execute MOPs and technical documentation.

Comfortable working in data halls, at heights, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
