Sr. Field Tech - Power Systems Tech I, II, III, or IV Join

RESA Power

as a Senior Field Technician for power systems across the United States & Canada. Positions range from Level I to Level IV, each building on the previous level’s experience and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and start‑up electrical systems from low voltage up to 500 kV.

Test and inspect switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers (45 kVA–130 MVA), and all related equipment.

Operate high‑voltage test equipment, including Doble Power‑Factor sets, and perform cable inspections.

Provide maintenance, reconditioning, and repair services for both low‑ and high‑voltage equipment.

Begin or continue troubleshooting on controls and transfer schemes.

Serve on rotating emergency on‑call duty and respond to customer emergencies promptly.

Execute all tasks in strict compliance with regulatory laws and safety procedures.

Carry out additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Experience and Qualifications for a Field Tech

High School diploma or GED with at least 1 year of related experience.

Knowledge of industry standards: NETA, NEC, OSHA, NFPA.

Experience preferred with MCCs, breakers, relay testing, oil testing, infrared scanning, and start‑up of switchgear up to 500 kV.

Capability to work safely and adhere to all electrical safety procedures.

Strong theoretical understanding of electricity and problem‑solving aptitude.

Effective verbal and written communication with customers and peers.

Dependable, responsible, with good judgment and organizational skills.

Customer‑service oriented with time‑management and follow‑up proficiency.

Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office, including Internet research.

Valid driver’s license required for positions with company vehicles.

Required Experience and Qualifications for a Power Systems Tech II

Minimum of 2 years of related experience.

NETA Level II certification.

Experience performing direct‑supervision tests and services; capable of ensuring own safety.

Knowledge of lockout/tagout, arc‑flash, and shock‑hazard analyses.

Required Experience and Qualifications for a Power Systems Tech III

Minimum of 5 years of related experience.

NETA Level III certification.

Mentor and lead Level I and Level II technicians; manage routine and moderately complex projects.

Responsible for safety of others and for performing electrical power switching.

Required Experience and Qualifications for a Power Systems Tech IV

Associate degree (or equivalent experience) with at least 10 years of related experience.

NETA Level IV certification.

Lead and supervise multiple crews; perform complex investigations, tests, and write reports.

Required Experience and Qualifications for a Sr. Field Tech

High School diploma or equivalent with at least 5 years of experience.

Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and industry standards: NETA, OSHA, IEEE, NFPA.

Strong background with high‑voltage equipment up to 230 kV.

Ability to complete projects on time and within budget; complete on‑site job reports.

Additional Information

Job:

Full‑time

Locations:

Lebanon, TN / Nashville, TN

Travel:

50–75%

Compensation:

$25–$65 per hour (depending on skill, certification, experience) with overtime eligibility; per‑diem for overnight travel.

Relocation:

Assistance available for highly qualified candidates.
