Certified Coder – Inpatient Medical Coder
Mount Sinai Medical Center – Remote (Florida Resident Required)

Responsibilities Accurately code and abstract inpatient medical records using ICD‑10‑CM diagnoses and PCS procedure codes. Maintain a coding accuracy rate of 95% or greater. Abstract clinical data (discharge disposition, discharge date, patient type) with an accuracy rate of 95% or greater. Process 2.5 inpatient charts per hour. Respond to coding queries within 24‑48 hours. Review EPIC dashboard queues, IP priority, and coding review needs daily.
Qualifications CCS, RHIT, RHIA, or eligible to test for one of these certificates; certification must be obtained within 12 months of employment. Associate degree in Health Information Management or completion of a Coding Specialist program. Minimum 2 years of ICD‑10‑CM/PCS coding experience.
