What You’ll Do
Planning routes, coordinating with suppliers and staff, managing shipping documents, and resolving issues to maintain smooth operations and meet deadlines.
Managing daily movements of goods from suppliers to receiving docks, ensuring supply chain processes like inventory, storage, and transportation are efficient and on schedule.
Planning and managing the movement of goods, which may include selecting carriers, planning routes, and tracking shipments.
Communicating with suppliers, clients, and internal teams to ensure coordination and address any logistical challenges.
Preparing shipping documents, purchase orders, and ensuring all paperwork is accurate and complete.
Identifying and resolving issues that may arise to prevent delays and keep the supply chain running efficiently.
Adhering to all applicable safety standards and regulations.
Helping all shipping/receiving operations and guaranteeing inventory integrity through enforcement of inventory management policies.
Examining contents and comparing them with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipments.
Preparing documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials to domestic locations as needed.
Recording shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and record‑keeping purposes.
Working with the safety department to report non‑conforming supplier performance.
Being responsible for coordinating a safe shipping/loading and receiving/unloading environment for all items utilizing equipment that are manual, motorized, or other in nature.
Effectively communicating with others and can work both independently and on a team in a dynamic environment.
Completing and performing necessary certification (and recertification if necessary) training to utilize equipment as required to perform job function.
You’ll Sweep Us Off Our Feet If You
Have experience with Lean/Operational Excellence standards and practices (i.e. 5S, Kaizen, etc.).
Have knowledge of/experience using inventory management systems.
Have knowledge of/experience using financial/accounting system.
Requirements
4+ years previous experience in Logistics.
Understanding of the supply chain, including common obstacles and effective solutions.
Knowledge of security/Safety operations and procedures.
Capable of immediately responding to emergencies to provide necessary assistance.
Effective written and oral communications.
Ability to work in a team environment and coordinate with other areas to achieve goals and objectives with minimum direct supervision.
Ability to effectively manage time and complete tasks as needed.
Strong computer skills and proficiency with Smartsheet, MS Outlook, Word, Excel & Power Point.
Ability to multitask.
Must maintain a valid state issued driver's license.
Physical requirements: Must possess mobility to work in a standard warehouse setting and to use standard warehouse equipment, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone, frequent standing, walking, and extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
