Magnolia 01 Produce - Perishables Rep - Part-Time
Join H‑E‑B as a Perishables Representative. The role focuses on maintaining a well‑stocked, well‑maintained department and providing superior customer service. The position is part‑time and requires energetic partners willing to work hard and have fun while ensuring customers feel welcome.
Responsibilities
Provide a well‑stocked and well‑maintained department while maintaining all food safety and sanitation standards.
Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh products on a daily basis.
Use Telxon for scanning items into production.
Assist in technical areas as needed.
Deliver superior customer service, take orders, answer questions, and assist with selections.
Apply suggestive selling techniques to build department sales.
Perform merchandising, labeling, rotation, and sanitation tasks.
Department‑Specific Responsibilities
Aguas:
Peel, cut, chop fresh fruits and vegetables; prepare fresh specialty drinks and food products specific to the Aguas department.
Floral:
Design floral arrangements, produce fresh quality products, execute merchandising programs, track seasonal records when appropriate.
Market:
Cut, trim, and prepare meat for service counter and self‑service counter; ensure proper rotation, storage, cooling, weighing, pricing, packaging; operate power prep equipment.
Produce:
Stock and rotate product, assist floral department when needed, provide product knowledge, cut, wrap, price, maintain signage program.
Seafood:
Maintain knowledge of fish and shellfish; weigh, price, package; keep coolers and freezers.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Computer systems knowledge (Telxon, ACR, label machine).
Planning and organizational skills.
Reading, writing, and basic math skills.
Physical Demands
Constantly reach at waist or above; frequently stand, walk, pivot, push or pull, grasp, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, stair climb, twist.
Frequently exposed to wet or cold conditions, occasionally to hot conditions and loud noise.
Demonstrated ability to lift up to 90 lbs (market) or 50 lbs (seafood) and manage in excess of those limits.
Duty must be performed within safe lifting limits; assistance must be requested if an item is too heavy.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum age 18 (mandatory).
Completion of Company Orientation and Safety Training.
