The Alfred Foundation is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services. On 1 January 2026, the five health services will combine to create Bayside Health, a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The merger will strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities.

Full‑time (80 hours per fortnight)

ADON/M Level 2 (RN46) or at a level commensurate with experience

The Role Reporting to the Deputy Director of Operations – Acute and Integrated Care, the Operations Manager – Acute and Integrated Care provides strategic and operational leadership across inpatient wards within the Acute and Integrated Care stream of the Home, Acute and Community Program. The role is accountable for ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality patient care through effective management of ward operations, patient flow, and resource utilisation, in alignment with Alfred Health and HAC strategic directions and DHHS guidelines. As a key member of the HAC Executive team, the Operations Manager will lead initiatives that optimise ward performance and contribute to broader program priorities, including scaling, integrating and reforming care beyond hospital walls.

Essential Qualifications and Experience Required

Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA

Demonstrated experience and success in health service management and leadership, and an understanding of health services and service delivery objectives

Strong financial and operational planning skillsProven ability to lead teams and build partnerships across health sectors

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Masters level qualification or working towards a qualification at graduate certificate level
