Job Summary Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research, and education. It is the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, offering a full range of ambulatory, inpatient, and community‑based services. On 1 January 2026, Alfred Health will merge with Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health, a new health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians.

Permanent, part‑time (0.6 EFT)

Based in Moorabbin with some travel required between locations

Salary range: $45k – $49k

About the Role At Alfred ICYAMHWS (Infant, Child, Youth, Area Mental Health & Wellbeing Service), our Family/Carer Peer Workers are known as Family Peer Specialists. As one of our Family Peer Specialists, you will draw from your own lived experience to offer support, either face‑to‑face or over the telephone, to families, carers and supporters of children aged 0‑11 attending Alfred ICYAMHWS. The role is established across the 0‑11 teams covering the Bayside geographical area. You will be part of a supportive interdisciplinary team reporting to the Manager Family / Carer Lived Experience Program – ICYAMHWS.

About You

Lived experience as a carer, family member, kin or supporter of a child with mental health issues (essential)

Interest in supporting others who are supporting their children; prior direct family/carer lived experience role is an advantage

Strong multitasking and time‑management skills

Valid Victorian Working with Children Check, current Victorian Driver’s Licence, willingness to undergo a background police check, and Australian working rights
