Provide support services in the operation and maintenance of an academic or research laboratory, including performing analyses; setup, operation, maintenance and cleaning of equipment; and maintaining stock of supplies. Interact with academic and/or research faculty members, staff, and students; advise and counsel lab users as needed. Supervise: NA (no supervisory responsibilities noted). Set up, operate and maintain instruments and other equipment used in lab tests and experiments. Order supplies and materials as required; maintain records. Set up laboratory media/equipment for demonstrations. May clean instruments, glassware and other lab equipment. Prepare and process laboratory samples for use in assigned tests. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma Required Experience:
Up to two years of job related experience Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in public policy, urban and regional planning, economics, political science, public administration, or similar majors Salary
Proposed Salary:
$18/hr Skills & Requirements
Working knowledge of instrumentation and lab equipment, laboratory processes and procedures relevant to the assigned lab Inventory management skills and proficiency with specialized computer applications Experience with statistical software and GIS Contact
