General Purpose Project Engineer I is responsible for contributing to the planning, design, and execution of electrical distribution projects. The role focuses on project coordination and execution, collaborating with various departments, coordinating permits, and maintaining strong connections with cooperative members. This entry‑level role offers opportunities for professional growth and hands‑on experience while working with senior designers.
Level II leverages advanced engineering expertise to contribute to efficient execution of moderate‑complexity projects.
Level III leverages advanced expertise for efficient execution of all complexity levels.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
Preferred: Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering degree.
Job‑related experience may be substituted for education on a year‑for‑year basis.
Experience
One (1) year of direct related experience in the electric utility distribution industry.
Preferred: Experience within an electric utility or related industry.
Other Requirements
Ability to work irregular hours and short‑notice emergencies.
Valid Florida driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Maximum 2½ years in the classification before transfer to Level III.
Normal work hours: eight (8) hours, 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Successful completion of pre‑employment background check, physical and drug screen.
