Position Summary The DOT Compliance Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring Truline meets or exceeds all FMCSA, DOT, state, and federal compliance requirements. This role supports both our Safety and Operations departments by managing essential compliance programs related to driver qualification files, Hours of Service monitoring, drug and alcohol testing, vehicle registrations, fuel tax compliance, and equipment titles.
Key Responsibilities DOT Compliance
Maintain accurate and complete FMCSA Driver Qualification Files (DQFs)
Track and audit medical certificates, MVRs, annual reviews, and safety documentation
Support ongoing CSA monitoring and participate in initiatives to reduce violations
Monitor Hours of Service (HOS) compliance, review logs, identify discrepancies, and support corrective actions
Assist with DOT compliance reviews, internal audits, and related documentation
Drug & Alcohol Program
Administer Truline’s DOT Drug & Alcohol Program
Coordinate pre‑employment, random, post‑accident, and reasonable suspicion testing
Ensure compliance with DOT Part 40 and FMCSA Part 382
Manage Clearinghouse queries, reporting, and follow‑up actions
IFTA & Fuel Tax Administration
Prepare and submit quarterly IFTA filings
Review and validate mileage, trip reports, and fuel purchase data
Support IRP, UCR, and all fuel/road use compliance programs
Registrations & Titles
Manage annual registrations, permits, plates, and decals for fleet equipment
Process vehicle titles, renewals, transfers, and new equipment documentation
Maintain accurate tracking and scheduling for all expiring compliance items
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in DOT compliance, fleet administration, or transportation safety
Working knowledge of FMCSA/DOT regulations, HOS, IFTA/IRP, and DOT Drug & Alcohol requirements
Strong organizational skills and exceptional diligence
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation compliance platforms
Effective communication skills with the ability to partner with drivers and leadership
