Position Information Position Title: Building Puentes Tutor (Learning Support) Requisition Number: H01817P Position Category: Hourly/Work Study Campus Location: Weber State University - Ogden, UT Hours per week: 7-20 Months per year: 12 Pay Grade: Salary Hourly Pay Rate: $17.00 FLSA: Job Summary/Basic Function This position will tutor students enrolled in the Building Puentes program. Tutoring will take place across three subjects. Tutors must have expertise in one of the subjects and fluency in both Spanish and English to be considered. Writing (in Spanish and in English) Computer Science Entrepreneurship For some courses, tutors will work with students entirely in Spanish. In other courses, tutors will work with students in both Spanish and English. Tutoring will take place in various locations depending on program needs and tutor availability: over Zoom, at the Community Education Center on 26th and Monroe in Ogden, WSU Davis in Layton, and on the Ogden Campus. This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time the pool will expire and applicants will be notified. Required Qualifications Must be a WSU student. Fluent in Spanish and in English (writing and speaking) Expertise in writing or computer science or entrepreneurship Good listening, communication, and interpersonal skills. A strong working knowledge of the subject matter you will be tutoring. Preferred Qualifications Ability to tutor many different courses in your selected subject area. Background Check?
