Pay Grade: Salary
Hourly Pay Rate: $14.50
FLSA: Job Summary/Basic Function – Tutor WSU students in Math at the Davis Learning Center as part of the Learning Support department. Tutoring is done on a drop‑in basis. Availability for drop‑in shifts is determined by the tutor. We require and provide training in tutoring techniques.
**This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.
Required Qualifications
Must be a WSU student.
Faculty recommendation or endorsement.
Must have earned a B or better in the courses you propose to tutor.
A strong working knowledge of the subject matter you will be tutoring.
Good listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to tutor many different courses.

Physical Requirements Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or consistently to move objects, including the human body. Sitting most of the time. Walking and standing only occasionally if ever.
Visual Acuity Requirements Including color, depth perception and field of vision. Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading.
Conditions The worker will not be substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
