Description Receipt, storage, and delivery of all chemicals used throughout the facility. Maintain chemical inventory and information, including labelling. Assist with waste management. Follow EHS directives and ensure all chemical and waste handling complies with all regulations. $19-27.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Receipt of chemical deliveries and organization of warehouse supply.
Maintain proper inventory levels in the warehouse, continuous upkeep of inventory tracking systems, reordering of chemicals. Dispense like chemicals to consolidate and manage floor space efficiently.
Delivery of all 150+ chemicals to all areas of the facility as needed, maintain all chemical satellite storage locations to ensure availability of chemicals at all times. Monitor all storage equipment, reporting malfunctions.
Assistance with chemical labeling of all primary, secondary, and point of use containers.
Identification and assistance with procurement of any new chemicals for added processes.
Oversee proper management of regulated waste accumulation areas including labeling, housekeeping, and some transfers of waste from satellite areas to accumulation areas in collaboration with various S&W departments.
Labeling, staging and loading waste as needed.
Assistance with spill response including immediate delivery of cleanup materials and help with cleanup in accordance with various S&W plans and procedures.
General support to be compliant with all regulatory obligations and facility operations.
Undergo EHS trainings and maintain certifications (RCRA, DOT Shipper, HAZWOPER, etc.) as needed.
All other tasks as directed by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience, Competencies and Education
Working knowledge of eMaint, SAP management systems and Winshuttle.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
Competent in forklift operation including maintaining proper certifications
Ability to manage and organize a warehouse/work area with minimal supervision
Preferred knowledge of chemical safety and properties
Preferred experience in facilities/maintenance
Strategic planning, and decision-making
Ability to complete projects as assigned in a timely manner
Language Skills
Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal communications
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Frequent: bending, kneeling, squatting, standing, walking, reaching, overhead reaching, and fine motor skills.
Maximum lifting: to 50 pounds
Frequent lifting: 5 to 20 pounds
Occasional lifting: 30 to 50 pounds.
All employees are required to apply ergonomic correctness to all job tasks.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Warehouse, shop floor environment and exposed to outside elements.
The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for most job task(s). This includes but is not limited to proper gloves, safety glasses (ANSI approved), hearing protection, and safety shoes.
Within the Smith & Wesson manufacturing facility employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting
