PURCHASING SPECIALIST – Job Summary
The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for purchasing raw or semi‑finished materials, machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and/or services necessary for the operation of Healthcare Arizona, and may also negotiate contracts.
Schedule
Day Shift, Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm (hours may vary based on business needs)
Supervisory Responsibilities
None
Salary Range
$50,000 – $53,000 annual salary
Duties and Responsibilities
Work with company department managers to determine purchasing needs and requirements for production and office products.
Identify the most appropriate supplier for the designated product, determine availability, perform comparative pricing, negotiate pricing, confirm quality of products, and establish delivery requirements and timelines.
Perform all purchasing functions such as issuing purchase orders (POs), invoice creation, pricing verification, payment authorization, and complete entries into the accounting system.
Input and maintain an online database of all products and maintain a daily inventory update.
Identify and resolve all issues related to product quality, pricing, delivery, utilization, and loss.
Perform inventory cycle counts, spot counts, and month‑end reconciliation; research any variances and authorize appropriate inventory adjustments.
Update the company on any new products that may be more efficient or cost‑effective, obsolete products, and product trends.
Conduct recorded audits of inventory, adjustments, and other metrics, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports of findings to management.
Communicate frequently with all other global Healthcare Arizona factories.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required.
1–3 years of related work experience.
Demonstrated proficiency in MS365, particularly Excel.
Bilingual in English and/or Mandarin is a plus.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Understanding of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with good English composition and grammar.
Knowledge of customer and personal service principles and processes, including meeting quality standards and internal customer satisfaction evaluation.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing effective manufacturing and distribution of goods.
Active listening abilities.
Physical Requirements
Sedentary work: Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds; negligible force frequently or constantly required.
Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, including long distances or moving between work sites.
Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas verbally, including detailed instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Hearing: Perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels and receiving detailed information through oral communication.
Vision: Adequate visual acuity to ensure accuracy and thoroughness of work.
Environment: Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions typical of office or administrative work.
