About the Role As a member of Garver's growing Water Design Center, the
Building Information Modeling (BIM) Project Leader
will lead drafting and design for projects while managing and mentoring a design squad of BIM Designers and Technicians. The role centers project delivery across multiple offices and utilizes the latest BIM technology, predominantly Revit software. Projects include process mechanical, structural, building mechanical, and architectural designs for water and wastewater treatment plants.
Primary Responsibilities
Serve as the primary BIM point of contact for assigned projects
Lead coordination between project team disciplines (civil, process, structural, mechanical, electrical)
Drawing Sheet List (both Excel and Revit)
Production of compiled PDFs for project milestones from all disciplines
Design changes where necessary
Clash detection and resolution between disciplines
Exporting of Revit files
Civil site plan linking
Facilitate P&ID design with all process modeling
Lead the development of 3D Revit models
Organization of facilities in different models as the project requires
Coordination of models with sub-consultants as needed
Maintaining the shared coordinate system
Owner of secured workset(s) for levels, grids, and scope boxes
Lead the organization of facility plans, sections, and details in Revit for construction documents
Attend project meetings as required
Work closely with Design Phase Managers to maintain scope, budget, and schedule to execute projects
Maintain strong communication with engineers and project managers to ensure timely delivery and avoid conflicts
Acknowledge and coordinate design issues with disciplines
Arrange necessary resources for file sharing and communication across the company or with clients, sub‑consultants, and contractors
Coordinate BIM resources for assigned projects
Develop markups working with the engineers
Distribute and coordinate workload with assigned BIM Designers and Technicians
Review work of assigned BIM Designers and Technicians and serve as their mentor
Provide thorough review of every plan sheet to ensure adherence to company CAD/BIM standards prior to engineers' review
Requirements
10 or more years of computer aided drafting and design experience with an architectural & or engineering design team
Extensive experience in the use of BIM software (Revit)
Experience using MSOffice products, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
General understanding of various building types
Experience with architectural, industrial and commercial designs
Experience with multi‑discipline CAD designs (piping, structural, electrical, I&C, controls, mechanical, HVAC, process)
Good communication and training skills (verbal and written)
High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Skills
Understanding of water or wastewater treatment specific equipment
Experience using Bluebeam software
Experience with file sharing protocols and other methods of file transfer
Associate's degree or higher with a focus on CAD/BIM
Experience with Civil 3D
Experience with point clouds and point cloud processing with ReCap
Experience with BIM360 file sharing software
