The

Project Coordinator, Franchise Strategy & Brand Creative

will assist in supporting multiple projects across two functional areas and will have opportunities to gain key project management skills. The role partners closely with team members across franchise strategy, brand creative, category management, product design & development, retail development/marketing, legal, global asset production and global asset management. They will actively participate in best-in-class culture through exceptional teamwork and active engagement in team meetings to support the organization’s operational excellence. Reports to the Director, Global Franchise Strategy & NAM Commercial Operations.

Salary range: $47,840 - $62,400

Essential Responsibilities

Assists UP&E Franchise Strategy Operations Director per their direction and guidance:

Supports the annual franchise planning processes and timelines, designed to ensure alignment across the business, capturing cross-functional feedback

Supports the development of sales and resource tools to the global organization, coordinating timelines and delivery, including sell sheets, presentation decks, slates and other materials as required

Maintains UP&E Resource Hub, ensuring currency and identifying opportunities for updates and refreshes

Tracks embargo and UP&E product and retail launch and set dates

Assists and coordinates the development of ongoing Franchise communication vehicles, e.g., newsletters, alerts, and the availability of new materials

Ensures timely distribution of forward-looking internal and competitive slates to business leaders, including presentation-approved slates for broader business use

Partners with regional franchise leaders to deliver sales materials for Key Partner Meetings (KPMs) globally

Maintains the global master calendar

Assists UP&E Brand Creative Operations Director per their direction and guidance:

Works in partnership with operations leads to ensure seamless management of assigned guide and character art projects

Assists with reviews of creative development with product design partners to ensure alignment in proof of concept, work in progress and creative rollout phases

Supports development of agendas and presentation materials for creative review meetings (both internal and with vendors); compiles and sends recaps and feedback for continued work progression

Liaison for legal, trademark and 3rd party partner approvals for creative projects, including all assigned creative deliverables

Works closely with Global Asset Production & Management teams for seamless and timely posting of assigned creative deliverables

Assists with creative guide audits and/or any research requested relating to guides posted on the asset management system over the lifecycle of the brand

Assists all lead project managers with updates to project trackers, project management tools, budget trackers, and other ad hoc reports

Recognizes sensitivity of studio assets and manages the watermarking, uploading, and distribution of assets to key internal stakeholders

Collaborates with regions/vendors to localize assets based on business needs

Maintains vendor list and annual vendor renewals across operations organization

Supports project budgets, including budget planning, quarterly forecasting and pacing along with vendor set up, PO creation and invoicing

Takes notes, helps to track agenda points, keeps meetings on track and on time and recaps next step

Prepares and updates Keynote presentations to be used for meetings and other events

Serves as member of Workfront task force team to develop the tool for broader Operations usage

Contributes to the advancement and actualization of Universal’s diversity, equity, and inclusion commitments

Additional duties as needed to meet business needs

Basic Qualifications

1+ years of professional work experience, ideally in entertainment operations

A team player prioritizing partnership, with the ability to follow instructions and follow through on projects

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting/competing priorities and stretch assignments

Effective communication, including speaking, writing and active listening as well as a professional presentation

Basic project management skills, including project management software, note taking, scheduling, budgeting, attention to detail, time management, prioritization and multitasking abilities. Experience in Workfront is a plus.

Proficient in MAC, including Keynote, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive/SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, and Word

Knowledge of Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator a plus

Eligibility Requirements

Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA

Desired Characteristics

Bachelor’s degree

A passion and interest in consumer products, film/content, franchise/marketing strategy and studio process
