CPLC's Early Childhood Development (ECD) programs are committed to giving every child, regardless of circumstances at birth, an opportunity to succeed in school and life. The programs provide full-day, full-year early childhood development services to low income children, ages 0-3 years, and their families in educationally-stimulating learning environments. The Migrant Head Start program provides full-day, full-year program services to children, ages 0-5 years, of migrant and seasonal farm and agriculture working families where hand-picked and row crops are prevalent.
How will you make an impact in this role?
Collaborate with families in a partnership process that identifies the family needs, interests, strengths, goals, and resources needed to support the family’s well-being.
Be the family’s liaison to program and community services and will connect assigned families to services which promote healthy, safety, and economic stability.
Be expected to conduct family engagement services and activities in the family’s preferred language to the extent possible.
Promote school readiness by preparing children and families for school and life success as it relates to this position. Actively supervise children by sight and sound at all times and in all environments.
Maintain all health and safety regulations to create an optimum learning environment.
Facilitate health practices to keep children safe in the school bus, outdoor and indoor environments.

You are a relationship-builder and can develop relationships with families and structure services to encourage trusting and respectful ongoing two-way communication.
You are empathetic, non-judgmental, respectful, professional and ethical at all times.
You are a professional and can maintain professional and ethical boundaries between self and families.
You are detail-oriented to be able to maintain up to date data in files electronically. Including but not limited to case management, immunizations, referrals, goals, home visits and assessments.
Minimum Qualifications and Competencies
High school diploma or GED
Basic keyboard skills and ability to use computer, computer software programs (e.g. Microsoft Office, Adobe) and web-based systems.
Within eighteen months of hire, at a minimum, a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
An Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Development (ECE), social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field with 2-years’ experience working in an early childhood education environment.
Experience in working with culturally diverse and low-income families.
Bilingual in English/Spanish is required for the Early Head Start programs
